Organisations and fiscal hosts¶
What organisations can I give to here?¶
Any organisation listed on this site. Each one has its own page, its own tiers, and its own name and description.
What is a "fiscal host"?¶
The registered non-profit that actually receives your contribution on an organisation's behalf, holds it, and takes care of compliance and tax receipts. An organisation isn't necessarily its own legal entity — a fiscal host is what makes it possible for one to accept money without setting one up.
Can one fiscal host hold more than one organisation?¶
Yes. Several organisations on this site can share the same fiscal host. That's worth knowing because it affects your receipt — see Receipts.
Does it matter which organisation I give to for my receipt?¶
Yes and no. Your receipt is issued per fiscal host, not per organisation, so if you give to two organisations under the same host, you get one receipt covering both. The host's name and its 80G/12A tax-exemption details — not the organisation's — are what appear on the receipt.
How do I find out an organisation's fiscal host?¶
It's shown on the organisation's own page, and it's also the name that appears on your receipt.
